FFs Give NC Boy Birthday to Remember

Sept. 24, 2018
Harrisburg firefighters were notified at the last minute of a 3-year-old boy's birthday guests canceling and quickly threw together a party for him.

A group of firefighters in western North Carolina went above and beyond this past weekend to give a young boy a birthday to remember.

The Harrisburg Fire Department posted the sweet story to its Facebook page on Sunday after quickly organizing a birthday celebration for a 3-year-old named Jackson after his mother called Station 3 to see if she could schedule a tour for her son.

It turns out that all but one of Jackson's birthday party guests had canceled on him that morning and the boy was devastated.

"Well the guys at the station weren’t going to let him not have a birthday party," the post reads. "We quickly ran to the store to get birthday balloons and cupcakes and all three crews gathered at Station 3 to await his arrival."

When Jackson arrived there were 15 firefighters waiting to celebrate his birthday with him. They gave him a tour of the station and the rigs and then all sang happy birthday to him in the station dining area.
