OH Firefighters Warn of Phone Scam

Beavercreek Professional Firefighters Local 2857 says in a social media post that any phone calls soliciting funds in its name are a scam.

Oct. 31 -- Hang up if you get a phone call from someone claiming to solicit funds in the name of the "Beavercreek Township Fire Union" because it's likely a scam, a union spokesman said in a social media post Tuesday night.

No one from the union is calling around seeking funds and attempting to get your credit card information, said Matt Clark, PIO, Beavercreek Professional Firefighters Local 2857. 

Clark advises that you simply hang up.
