Eight Volunteer Firefighters Resign from OH Department

More resignations could be on the horizon for the Greenville Township Fire Department, which saw multiple firefighters and an assistant chief leave over the weekend.

Multiple volunteer firefighters and the volunteer assistant chief reportedly resigned from the Greenville Twp. Fire Department over the weekend.

Eight volunteers submitted resignations Saturday and more could follow, according to The Early Bird.

Matt Kolb, a Greenville Twp. trustee, told the media company that township residents are still covered if an emergency happens.

He also denied that rumors that the township fire department was disbanding.

Greenville Twp. Emergency Services has more than 20 employees who are firefighter certified, according to The Early Bird. There are also 17 volunteer firefighters.
