Cops: DE Firefighter Directing Traffic Pulled Gun on Driver

A Delaware volunteer firefighter is accused of pointing a gun at a driver while directing traffic at the scene of a disabled vehicle over the weekend.
The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday as authorities were responding to a vehicle stuck in the water along Woodland Beach Road in Smyrna, according to state police, A relative of one of the individuals in the disabled vehicle tried to reach the emergency scene, but he was stopped by Citizens’ Hose Company firefighter Elliott Glover, who was working traffic control as fire police.
The family member explained the situation, but Glove wouldn't let him through. When it seemed like the man was trying to drive around Glover, the firefighter pulled a gun and threatened to shoot the 33-year-old driver.
The man eventually left the scene after a final exchange with Glover, police said. No one was injured in the incident.
Glover, 69, was arrested and charged with aggravated menacing and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. He was released on $10,000 bond.
Following the incident, Glover was suspended from all Citizens' Hose Company actitvities pending the findings of a state police investigation, a department spokesman told Delaware State News.
