Social media posts by firefighters about the murder of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, a conserative youth organization, are under investigation.

An employee of Nashville Fire Department was placed on administrative leave after a former West Virginia legislator shared a screenshot of a post.

It showed a red box and had the caption "Just got my limited edition Charlie Kirk Labubu," according to WSMV.

Nashville fire officials' statement on the issue reads: "In accordance with Civil Service Rules, the employee has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal fact-finding process. While this review is underway, we will not be providing any additional information in relation to this ongoing matter.

"It is important to emphasize that the personnel of Nashville Fire Department remain committed to our mission of delivering high-quality fire, medical, and rescue emergency response, as well as community support services."

In New Orleans, fire leaders also are condemning the alleged remarks made by one of its personnel.

"This conduct is unacceptable, and it does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of our Department. The matter is under review according to City and Departmental Policy," the statement read.

Attorney General Liz Murrill also released a statement after seeing the social media post. "This comment on social media by a person in a position of public trust is unacceptable and disturbing. It’s even more disturbing in invoking God in the delivery of the bullet that took Charlie Kirk’s life. This was an indefensible, disgusting act of political violence with no place in a democratic society."
