A Baltimore County paramedic, accused of masturbating and urinating on fire equipment and colleagues' food, has been sidelined, and a deep clean is underway at multiple fire stations.

The medic, who has not been identified, posted some his acts in the fire stations on websites, The Banner reported.

A video with references to a coworker’s lip balm, was deleted, the paper noted.

Fire Chief Joseph Dixon wrote in an email last week that sanitzing was underway in stations as well as some vehicles.

Also, lockers and appliances would be cleaned inside and out. Certain vehicles also are being scrubbed.

Dixon added that there's an investigation underway, and the medic is not at work.

While disgusting, county health officer and experts told fire officials the risk to employees is minimal to none.

President of the Baltimore County Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1311 Steve Redmer said the actions were a "serious breach of trust" that has "no place in the department."

Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier wrote in a statement: “I am aware of these disturbing allegations and want to make clear that the health, safety, and well being of our employees in Baltimore County is our top priority. My administration is working closely with Baltimore County Fire Department and union leadership at IAFF Local 1311 to ensure the team has the resources and support they need as the investigation continues.”

The cleaning involves:

  • High-touch surfaces (door handles, push plates, light switches, etc.)
  • Bathrooms and all fixtures
  • Water fountains
  • Kitchens (surfaces, sinks, appliances-inside and out
  • Bunk rooms (beds, furniture)
  • Lockers (inside and out)
  • Floors (deep cleaning and sanitizing using germicidal products)
  • Several vehicles, including QRT and MIH1/2, will also undergo professional cleaning and sanitation
