The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is pleased to announce that registration for the 2026 NVFC Training Summit, which will be held in Arlington, VA, on June 26–27, is now open. Firefighters and EMS providers have the chance to take part in important classroom training, idea sharing, and networking at this prestigious conference. Emergency service leadership, volunteer recruitment and retention, and responder health and safety will be the three learning tracks.

Two days of classroom-based breakout sessions with well-known instructors across the country, keynote speakers, general sessions, networking opportunities, and a vendor expo are all part of the Summit. The 18 courses on the schedule cover important subjects that affect volunteer emergency services, such as NFPA/OSHA compliant training, leadership development, brush fire response, AI for fire prevention education, teamwork, recruitment and retention.

The NVFC acknowledges that cost can be a problem even though the Training Summit is a terrific value. Stipends that cover up to $800 of conference-related costs, such as lodging, flight, mileage, and transportation, as well as the event registration price, are available to help lower this barrier. Applications for stipends must be submitted by March 1, and beneficiaries will be informed by March 31. You must be a current NVFC member in order to qualify for a stipend. Not a participant? Visit www.nvfc.org/join to sign up for only $24.

The Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel will host the NVFC Training Summit in 2026. The hotel is located in the center of historic Arlington, VA, just outside of Washington, D.C. It is only a short stroll from restaurants, coffee shops, tourist attractions, and a subway station that will transport you across the DC metropolitan area. On June 25, there will be an ice cream social and registration. On June 26, there will be a networking party following lessons. Attendees will have the chance to visit vendor tables during the event. Sponsorships are available; for additional details, click this link.
