Three Jackson, MS, Firefighters on Leave after Sobriety Questioned
Three Jackson firefighters were placed on leave after their sobriety came into question after responding to a call.
The trio reportedly stopped at a downtown business while on duty. Later, they responded to a call on a vacant property.
Police were notified after the call, and they were given sobriety testing. While details of the results have not been made public, Fire Chief Rasean Thomas told WAPT disciplinary action was taken immediately.
The department is conducting an internal investigation.
“The conduct described in this incident is unacceptable and inconsistent with the standards we demand of every member of this department. The safety of Jackson residents is our highest obligation, and any behavior that compromises that obligation will not be tolerated,” Thomas said.
