Ex-Pipe Creek Township, IN, Fire Chief Charged with Using Department Funds for Himself

Plane tickets, hotel and resorts, restaurants, casinos and car rentals were among items that the Pipe Creek Township Fire Department paid for.

Now, their former fire chief, Jon Allen, 38, is facing felony charges for using the fire department's account as his own.

Allen was charged in Miami County with theft and corrupt business influence for allegedly stealing more than $58,000, Fox 59 reported.

Between July 2023 and March 2024, the former chief took trips to Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas and two to Tennessee.
