NVFC, Pearl Milling Company Partner for 2026 Nutella Stacks for Giving Back Program
Through "Stacks for Giving Back," Nutella hopes to raise awareness to those who promote happiness in their local communities. Nutella has once again collaborated with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) in the third year of the program to provide $25,000 in grants to fire departments. Pearl Milling Company, Nutella's official pancake partner, is offering an extra $25,000 in awards this year. In order to help fire stations organize their next pancake fundraiser, consumers can also nominate them to win Nutella Pancake Breakfast Kits.
Volunteer fire departments frequently struggle to secure sufficient financing to buy necessary equipment, hire and retain firemen, and meet high-pressure demands brought on by rising call volumes, additional training requirements, and much more. The Stacks for Giving Back initiative was started by Nutella to assist departments in obtaining the supplies they require to provide the best possible service to their communities. In 2026, ten worthy departments will receive $5,000 awards from Nutella in collaboration with Pearl Milling Company and the NVFC. Departments must have an NVFC member, be located in the United States, serve a population of 25,000 or fewer and have more than 50 percent volunteers in order to be eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is April 30.
Furthermore, a lot of fire units depend on funds from regional fundraising activities. By giving firemen the supplies and delectable goods they need to host a fundraiser pancake breakfast, Nutella wishes to commemorate and appreciate everything that firefighters do. A Pancake Breakfast Kit, which includes Nutella, Pearl Milling Company pancake mix and much more, will be given to 350 departments this year so they may organize their next delectable fundraiser. The deadline for consumer department nominations is April 30.
Local departments are benefiting greatly from the Nutella Stacks for Giving Back grants. The 2025 award allowed the Landis Volunteer Fire Department in Marshall, Arkansas, to buy SCBA tanks and wildland fire protection gear. Lucinda Rolen, the department treasurer, stated, "We were able to provide more equipment to better protect our firefighters when they are protecting the community by leveraging the grant money by purchasing new and used personal protective equipment from online suppliers."
The Cleveland, AL, Volunteer Fire Department is now able to put all of their trucks in service thanks to the equipment and tools they purchased with the grant. “Morale has improved, training has improved, and members can now work on and train on a truck that was out of service and unavailable until we received this grant, which enabled us to get the equipment we needed to move enough resources to use this valuable truck,” said Assistant Fire Chief David Hackworth.
The award allowed Chili Fremont, WI, Fire & Rescue to obtain more value for their money. They had intended to use the award to buy step chocks and stabilizing struts, but after explaining the fund's purpose to the vendor, they were also able to add high-visibility jackets and rescue gear to better safeguard first responders.
