Following a lengthy suspension for a post made on Instagram, a Mount Vernon firefighter is back at the station.
Lt. Omar Lanier posted “Hooray for Dallas and the real gangstas who took the shots," on Instagram after five police officers were gunned down in Dallas in July. He told followers to “keep it going.”
Fire Commissioner Ernest Richardson suspended Lanier in August, according to the Mount Vernon Daily Voice.
Lanier, who has been on the department for nine years, will be probation for one year.
