Retired FDNY Capt. John Vigiano, who lost both his sons in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks on the World Trade Center, has succumbed to cancer.

After the deaths of his sons, one of whom was a New York City police officer and the other a firefighter, Vigiano—a proud military veteran—dedicated himself to helping injured soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
