Former FDNY Chief Marks 100th Birthday

Former FDNY Battalion Chief John Nasta celebrated his 100th birthday Wednesday surrounded by fellow firefighters, friends and family.

Former FDNY Battalion Chief John Nasta celebrated his 100th birthday Wednesday surrounded by fellow firefighters, friends and family.

Nasta served the department for more than 30 years before retiring from Battalion 40 in Brooklyn. At that time, he was the longest-serving fire officer in FDNY history.
