TN City's First Black Female Captain Retires

"It's just an honor and a glory that God has brought me this far," Jacquetta Brooks said after 30 years with the Knoxville Fire Department.

After 30 years of service, Jacquetta Brooks, the first African-American female captain with the Knoxville Fire Department, retired over the weekend. She started her career in 1988 after the department was recruiting firefighters at her church. 

"It's just an honor and a glory that God has brought me this far," Brooks told WBIR-TV.
