Ex-Denver Firefighter Guilty in Hidden Station Camera Case

Oct. 28, 2020
Former Denver Fire Lt. Daniel Flesner was convicted on two counts stemming from the concealment of a camera in a female firefighter's station bedroom in March 2019.

A former Denver firefighter was convicted Monday in a case involving a hidden camera at a department firehouse.

Daniel Flesner was found guilty of invasion of privacy and attempt to commit tampering with physical evidence, KCNC-TV reports. His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.

Flesner was accused of concealing a camera in a female firefighter's station bedroom in March 2019. The camera was disguised as a phone charger and was motion activated.

“I was really scared,” the female firefighter testified as she recounted discovering the camera after hearing sounds coming from it.

Flesner resigned shortly after the camera was discovered. His lawyer said the camera was an example of a joke gone wrong, according to KCNC.
