New Shift Part of IAFF Contract in Cleveland Township, IN
Cleveland Township firefighters are taking a victory lap as they'll now be working 24/72 hour shifts.
The new schedule is part of the three-year collective bargaining contract with the township.
"Locking in the four-shift schedule was awesome, but there's so much more involved in the contract that I'm thankful for," Firefighter/EMT Josh Kenny told WSBT.
The agreement also ensures competitive wages, a salary increase over the next three years as well as paid maternity, paternity and National Guard leave.
t's a 24 hours-on, 72 hours-off schedule. That means we have four shifts versus the three that are typically in any other department. We were able to do this without taking a pay cut," said Jason Bryant, Cleveland Professional Firefighters Local 5490 President.

T and a new schedule that President Jason Bryant says is "the envy of a lot of fire departments."
