Dec. 2, 2025

Polk City paramedic is suing to get reinstated after she was fired for a social media post on her personal account.

Paramedic Alissa Furry's post about the death of Activist Charlie Kirk on Sept. 10 read in part: "I really don't care that this guy died from gun violence," KCCI reported.

Furry claims her First Amendment rights were violated as she posted it on her personal page and never mentioned her job or agency. She also deactivated her account.

She is seeking damages as well as reinstatement.
