Felony Charges Filed Against Ex-Montage, CA, Fire Chief

The now Mount Shasta fire captain has been placed on unpaid leave while an internal probe continues.

Felony charges have been filed against the former Montague fire chief.

Mount Shasta Fire Capt. Jasen Vela, who was arrested Tuesday, was placed on administrative leave, KRCR reported.

The charges stemmed from an investigation during his tenure as fire chief in Montague.

An internal investigation is now underway in Mount Shasta Fire Department.
