Embreeville, TN, Fire Department Enhances Services with Two Career Firefighters
Things just aren't the same these days at Embreeville Volunteer Fire Department.
That's because there are two career personnel -- a firefighter and a rescue tech -- are on duty 24/7.
Heretofore, volunteers responded to fire and EMS incidents in the Embreeville area, WJHL reported.
“It’s a great outlook for everyone. That way, constantly somebody is here. You’ve got quick response, better service. It’s it’s just, an extra hand to help us volunteers out. Once at work during the daytime, when you least have somebody here to respond quicker to the emergencies,” Embreeville Fire Chief Craig Story said.
Washington County-Johnson City Emergency Management Services (EMS) Deputy Chief Brandon Archer explained that the fire assistance program started with one fire department and has now grown to three in the county.
“The Embreeville community, it is a very big zone. There’s parts that actually have to go into Johnson City and then back out into the county..." Archer said.
