Montour Falls, N.Y., Consolidates Two Rigs Into One

Truck 5, a 105-foot quint made by Pierce Mfg., is now in service with the Montour Falls, N.Y., Fire Department.

Truck 5, a 105-foot quint made by Pierce Mfg.,  is now in service with the Montour Falls, N.Y., Fire Department. The apparatus replaces a 1978 Seagrave 100-foot rear-mount ladder and a 1992 Pierce Lance to better serve the community. The apparatus is powered by a Cummins ISX15 600-hp and an Allison transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous 2,000-gpm and a 500-gallon water tank. It also has an 8,000-watt Harrison generator.
