The time has come to call it a year. 2003 is just about to become one for the history books. There has been some stirring successes and some disastrous failures. Each of us has given and received in a variety of ways. It is my hope that you have given more than you have received, for that is the best way to live.
This is the time of the year when tradition dictates that we all should pause and reflect upon the events of the months which have formed the year 2003. On the macro level, we have lost a number of important people; movie stars, politicians, and a whole host of lesser lights in the media heavens.
At the micro level each of us bid farewell to a number of people we knew and loved. We are all the sum total of our loves and hates. Whether they were from the fire service, the Masonic world, my family
