The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has replaced their existing fleet of hazardous materials response units with 10 state-of-the-art units from Hackney Emergency Vehicles.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has replaced their existing fleet of hazardous materials response units with 10 state-of-the-art units from Hackney Emergency Vehicles. The units replace those purchased from Hackney in 1997. They are placed strategically around the state including the City of Boston.

The units feature 918 cubic feet of useable space in a 23.5-foot body with 12 roll-up doors on each vehicle. They also feature Hackney's drop, pinched frame technology for 40-inch floor to ceiling compartment depths. They have Leece-Neville 270-amp alternators, V-MUX multiplexed electrical systems with color LCD controls, electric awnings on left and right side of the body with perimeter curtains, color backup cameras, Onan generators, Hannay cord reels, Whelen floodlights, Will-Burt Night Scan light towers, as well as MagnaFire flood lights.
