Apparatus - Engine 2 Goes in Service With Newton, Kan., Firefighters

Newton, Kan., Fire/EMS has a new rescue pumper in service built by Smeal on a Sirius cab and chassis. It's powered by a Cummins engine and an Allison transmission.

To fight fire, it has a Waterous 1,500 gpm pump, a 500-gallon UPF tank, a FoamPro 2002 single-foam system and a Waterous Eclipse CAF system.

Other equipment includes a Will-Burt NightScan light tower, an electric hose bed cover, Zico access ladder, Whelen warning and scene lights, and Fire Research Corporation scene lights.

It was sold by John Pelfrey, Danko Emergency Equipment, Snyder, Neb.
