Miami, FL, May 13, 2017—Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Engine 37 arrived to a working fire at a fish farm. Size-up determined that multiple oxygen tanks were being impinged on by the fire. Engine 37 pulled two 1¾-inch and one 2½-inch attack lines, and a cooling stream was immediately applied to the tanks. New Orleans, LA, May 20, 2017—Crews from the New Orleans Fire Department battled four-alarm fire in a two-story, mixed-use commercial structure. Shortly after the third-alarm was requested, the roof of the building collapsed, causing the building’s exterior walls to fall into the street. Firefighters quickly positioned crews to protect the occupied dwellings to the immediate left and rear of the fire building, and were ultimately able to limit the fire’s damage to adjacent properties to just radiant heat exposure to one exterior wall on each.
