Michael K. Laracy
MICHAEL K. LARACY is deputy chief of the Walpole, MA, Fire Department with 30 years of fire service experience. He holds a master’s degree in emergency management from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and a bachelor’s degree in fire science from Providence College. Laracy is an adjunct instructor at Anna Maria College, teaching Emergency Management Operations Framework and is attending the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program. This column is adapted from the applied research project “Impacts of Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack on Fire/EMS Delivery Services” conducted as part of the EFO Program.
