Paul Pepe

Dr. Paul Pepe serves as Dallas County, TX, EMS/Public Safety Medical Director and is an adjunct professor of management, policy & community health at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. He also is EMS medical director for research, education and special operations for the Florida counties of Broward, Palm Beach and Brevard and numerous south Florida municipalities. A professor of surgery, medicine, pediatrics and public health and chair of emergency medicine for several decades, Pepe was the regional director for disaster/event preparedness at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and Parkland Emergency-Trauma Center. He leads the EMS Eagles Global Alliance of metropolitan EMS (9-1-1 system) medical directors, which comprises the designated physicians who provide medical oversight for most of the nation’s 50–60 largest cities. Pepe medically guided several of the nation’s largest fire services and pioneered many pivotal advances in resuscitation medicine, trauma care, EMS operations and mass casualty response.
