Andrew Serra served 25 years with FDNY. He retired as the captain of Ladder 20 in lower Manhattan. Assignments throughout his career included Special Operations Command and instructor of fire dynamics. Serra is a certified New York State Fire Instructor, Confined Space Rescue Instructor and Hazardous Materials Technician. He holds two master’s degrees and is the author of “Finding John,” which is a memoir of the 9/11 attacks and the aftermath.
