Ross Chapman
Ross Chapman serves as a battalion chief with the Arlington Heights, IL, Fire Department. He is a squad leader with Illinois Urban Search & Rescue Task Force 1 and was the technical and training coordinator for the MABAS Division 1 technical rescue team. Chapman has worked in the rope and specialty rescue arena for the past 15 years and currently is the special projects manager for the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) and is a SPRAT Level III rope access supervisor, specializing in elevated environments. He has a master’s degree in emergency services management and a bachelor’s degree in fire service management and is a certified Urban Search and Rescue Specialist through the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. Chapman was a featured guest on The Standard, Fit to Fight Fire and Talkin’ Shop with Outlier Firefighters podcasts and at the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois Health & Safety Conference.
