Lindsey Hankus

Fire Chief

Lindsey Hankus is the fire chief of the Forest Park, IL, Fire Department. She joined the department in 2002 as a paramedic, then served as a firefighter/paramedic for 16 years and as a company officer for four years until her promotion to her current position in 2024. She also serves as a technical rescue team coordinator, hazmat team member and active-shooter response instructor for the Illinois Division of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS). From 2019 to 2024, Hankus served as the lead instructor for a security services management firm for emergency management drills and classes, including in regard to active shooter, decontamination and patient surge. She holds an associate degree in fire service operations from Moraine Valley Community College.
