Jeffrey Middleton

Jeff Middleton is a chief safety officer with the Warren, MI, Fire Department (WFD). He has served in multiple leadership and operational roles, including chief of training, training coordinator and sergeant paramedic. Middleton works as a part-time instructor at the Schoolcraft College Fire Academy, where he teaches firefighter certification courses and mentors new recruits. He is a Federal Aviation Administration-certified Part 107 drone pilot and coordinates the WFD’s unmanned aircraft systems program. Middleton holds a Master of Science in Emergency Management from Eastern Michigan University along with multiple degrees in fire technology EMS and business administration. He presents regularly on firefighter safety, drone response and emerging technologies in the fire service.
