Jefferson Township Fire Co. #2 to host first annual 5K Inferno Run/ Walk

    Jefferson Township Fire Company #2 (JTFD #2) will host its first annual Inferno Run/ Walk on Saturday, August 21.  The day will include the course-certified 5K race, along with a kids half mile fire dash, a tot trot for children five years and younger, giveaways, an awards ceremony, post-race refreshments, and DJ entertainment.

    Jefferson Township Fire Company #2 (JTFD #2) will host its first annual Inferno Run/ Walk on Saturday, August 21.  The day will include the course-certified 5K race, along with a kids half mile fire dash, a tot trot for children five years and younger, giveaways, an awards ceremony, post-race refreshments, and DJ entertainment. 

    All proceeds from the event will benefit The Howard Sufian Memorial Scholarship Fund, a scholarship created by JTFD #2 in memory of former chief Howard Sufian.  The scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a two or four year college / trade education, who have interests and achievements in leadership and community service.Same-day race registration will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and the race will begin at 9 a.m.  The race will be located at the Fireman’s Field, 759 Route 15 South in Lake Hopatcong, NJ.  Participants will receive a race t-shirt and goodie bag, while supplies last.

    Pre-registration prices, up until August 8th, are $20 for the 5K and $10 for the one mile walk.  After August 8th, prices will be $25 for the 5K and $15 for the one mile walk.  All kids races are free and should be registered for on the day of the race.

    There is also Fire Department Team Registration available for $45. Teams require 3 members from the same department and preregistration is required.
