This full day training program examines in detail offensive and defensive firefighting strategy and tactics for the seven different occupancies listed below. Size-up, hose line positioning, aerial and ground ladder placement, interior and exterior fire spread problems, ventilation principles, search and rescue techniques, collapse-explosion-flashover dangers; and most important safety and survival on the fire ground will be studied. This firefighting strategy and tactic session will apply all of the above tactics to the following occupancies:Private Dwelling Fires, Strip Store Fires, Row Dwelling Fires, Garden Type Dwelling Fires, Heavy Timber Factory Fires, Wood Triple Decker Fires, High Rise Firefighting

Vincent Dunn was a 42-year veteran of the FDNY and retired as a deputy chief, serving as division commander for midtown Manhattan. 

He is a nationally renowned lecturer and is the author of the textbook and video series Collapse of Burning Buildings and the textbooks Safety and Survival on the Fireground, Command and Control of Fires and Emergencies, and Strategy of Firefighting-How to Extinguish Fires. Chief Dunn has written numerous articles for Firehouse Magazine and Fire Engineering.
