This is a 2-day National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) workshop providing a technical understanding of how wildfires threaten buildings, what causes buildings to ignite, and how to reduce the risk of disastrous Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) conflagrations. The focus is on property owner responsibility to reduce the ignition potential of individual buildings and to reduce hazardous vegetation immediately surrounding the building, a concept called the Home Ignition Zone.
