Maryland Birthday Cake Blast Injures Three

BALTIMORE -- Three people in Carroll County were injured when a birthday party went off with a literal bang. Fire officials said a 13-year-old girl and her parents were injured after a low-level explosion inside their Finksburg home. Authorities said they believe someone mistook some small fireworks for candles, put them in a birthday cake and lit them. All three of the injured are said to be in good condition. Officials are investigating the incident.

Fire officials said a 13-year-old girl and her parents were injured after a low-level explosion inside their Finksburg home.
