Toddler and Grandfather Killed in Ohio Fire

CALCUTTA, Ohio -- A toddler and his grandfather died when fire broke out in a Columbiana County home. According to emergency dispatch, the fire started about 3 p.m. Monday in the area of Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road, in Calcutta. Charles Marshall, 43, and his toddler grandson, Gage Marshall, died in the fire. Fire officials said the blaze started in an upstairs bedroom. Several other people were in the home at the time and escaped safely. The fire marshal's office is investigating.

CALCUTTA, Ohio --

A toddler and his grandfather died when fire broke out in a Columbiana County home.

According to emergency dispatch, the fire started about 3 p.m. Monday in the area of Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road, in Calcutta.

Charles Marshall, 43, and his toddler grandson, Gage Marshall, died in the fire.

Fire officials said the blaze started in an upstairs bedroom. Several other people were in the home at the time and escaped safely.

The fire marshal's office is investigating.
