An Ohio volunteer firefighter/EMT was killed Friday morning after she was struck and killed while directing traffic at the scene of a crash.
Charolette R. Adair, 45, a member of Richfield Center Fire Department, was on her way to work as a teacher when she stopped to assist at the wreck, according to WTOL.com.
While directing traffic, she was struck by an eastbound Ford Escape being driven by Richard J. Bigras, 58, of Fayette, the station reported.
She was transported by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center where she later died.
Adair was a teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Swanton.
