Workers Burned by Furnace at Pa. Foundry

LAWRENCEVILLE, Pa. -- Two workers were burned at a business in Lawrenceville on Monday. The McConway and Torley Foundry in Lawrenceville was active with police, firefighters and members of OSHA after the workers were reportedly burned inside the facility around 2:30 p.m. Firefighters told Channel 11 that the men were working near a furnace when it malfunctioned and backfired. The victims were rushed to an urgent care center in Sharpsburg, and from there, they were sent to West Penn Allegheny Hospital.

Two workers were burned at a business in Lawrenceville on Monday.

The McConway and Torley Foundry in Lawrenceville was active with police, firefighters and members of OSHA after the workers were reportedly burned inside the facility around 2:30 p.m.

Firefighters told Channel 11 that the men were working near a furnace when it malfunctioned and backfired.

The victims were rushed to an urgent care center in Sharpsburg, and from there, they were sent to West Penn Allegheny Hospital.

The workers' names and conditions have not been released.
