Tree Crashes Down on New Jersey Fire Truck

Freehold Township firefighter were responding to a call over the weekend after Irene hit when a tree fell onto their fire truck, according to The Freehold Patch.The crew from Independent Fire Co. No. 1 was en route to Jackson Mills Road Sunday morning when the incident occurred.The four firefighters inside the truck were uninjured, Fire Chief Tom Luongo said.The firefighters were working as part of response to problems caused by the storm system that hit the area.

The four firefighters inside the truck were uninjured, Fire Chief Tom Luongo said.

The firefighters were working as part of response to problems caused by the storm system that hit the area.

"It's been really hectic. We're up to 70 emergency responses, not including flooded basements," Luongo told The Patch. "The fire companies and first aid companies will keep working. We'll get to you. Just hang in there and stay safe."
