N.H. Firefighter Hospitalized After Battling Blaze

MEREDITH, N.H. -- One firefighter was hospitalized after helping to fight a fire that destroyed a home in Meredith on Saturday morning. Fire officials said the firefighter suffered heat exhaustion while battling the fire at 74 Hermit Woods Road. She was taken to Lakes Region General Hospital and was expected to be OK. Fire officials said the home and attached garage were fully engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene. The house was vacant at the time of the fire.

Fire officials said the firefighter suffered heat exhaustion while battling the fire at 74 Hermit Woods Road.

She was taken to Lakes Region General Hospital and was expected to be OK.

Fire officials said the home and attached garage were fully engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene.

The house was vacant at the time of the fire.

The owners live in Bridgewater, Mass. and use the property as a seasonal home, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
