A Memphis paramedic and a firefighter were suspended for four hours after posting a picture of an injured patient on Facebook.

The injured boy had a nail impaled in his head. The picture showed a large board protruding from bandages being held to stabilize it, according to WREG.com.

Fire Lieutenant Maurice Tolivar told officials he snapped a cell phone picture for training purposes. However, Paramedic Charles Bullock posted the picture on his Facebook page, a violation of department rules, the station reported.

"In my 22 year career, I cannot remember this ever happening," Lieutenant Wayne Cook, Public Information Officer with the Memphis Fire Department told reporters.

The boy is fine, and later enjoyed showing TV crews where the board with the nail hit him. The child's mother praised EMS crews for taking care of her son. She said she was not aware a picture had been posted.

The medic is appealing the suspension.
