Wash. Crews Called to Assault Find House Fire

SULTAN, Wash. --

SULTAN, Wash. --

Emergency responders were called to the scene of an assault in Sultan early Sunday morning. When they arrived, they found a house fully engulfed in flames.

The Sultan Fire Department said it started before 5 a.m. when a 911 call came in reporting an assault victim with injuries to the face at the corner of Whispering Pine Place and Willow Avenue in Sultan.

Crews arrived to find a house on fire and the assault victim attempting to fight the fire with a hose.

As they fought the flames, one firefighter was injured in a fall and the fire jumped to a second home.

Officials continue to investigate the assault and fire.
