TACOMA, Wash. --
A two-alarm fire at the old Heidelberg Brewery site sent smoke over downtown Tacoma early Thursday morning.
The Tacoma Fire Department responded to reports of a commercial structure fire near the intersection of South 21st Street and South C Street at 11:48 p.m. Wednesday.
Crews arrived to find flames in the upper levels of the three story building, a fire department spokesman said.
A second alarm was called on the fire because it connected to other buildings, including a storage facility that stores the Pierce County Toys for Tots inventory.
Crews worked to keep flames from the storage building.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which closed off a one block radius around the building.
Investigators had to wait until the morning to look into a cause.
According to the fire department, the building was vacant and set for demolition.
