A Minneapolis firefighter who was seriously injured in a flashover last summer returned to duty on Tuesday, according to KARE-TV.
Firefighter Jacob LeFerriere was searching for victims during a July house fire when the flashover occurred, launching him across the room.
The worsening conditions forced him to jump from a third-floor window onto the first-floor porch.
He sustained third and fourth degree burns to his hands, a broken ankle and torn ligaments.
LeFerriere underwent numerous treatments and months of physical therapy to prepare for his return to the job.
