Flames consumed toasters, vacuums, heaters and tires at the Kuusakoski Recycling plant in the 3100 block of Orthodox Street.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the rear of the facility and besides a water pressure problem, they didn't have many issues knocking it down.
"We didn’t know when we got here, but the Water Department informed us there was a water main break," Deputy Chief Joe Mack told the news station. "When we got here, the water pressure wasn't the best and we just had to work around it a little bit."
While there was no property damage or injuries, residents said the worst thing to come out of the fire was the smell.
Crews extinguished the fire in about an hour-and-a-half.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
