Fla. Firefighter Burned Battling Apartment Blaze

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Four apartments were affected by a fire in the Glynlea area Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters were called to the 300 block of Laurina Street about 3 p.m. A firefighter was taken to a hospital with minor burns, rescuers said. Firefighters said no one else was hurt in the fire, which damaged one apartment and caused heavy smoke and water damage to the other three. Three families, 12 people in total, were displaced from their apartments. They were being assisted by the Red Cross.

Four apartments were affected by a fire in the Glynlea area Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the 300 block of Laurina Street about 3 p.m.

A firefighter was taken to a hospital with minor burns, rescuers said. Firefighters said no one else was hurt in the fire, which damaged one apartment and caused heavy smoke and water damage to the other three.

Three families, 12 people in total, were displaced from their apartments. They were being assisted by the Red Cross.

A dog was reported missing in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
