Baltimore Firefighters Rescue Victim From Blaze

BALTIMORE -- An unconscious victim was rescued from a burning home by fire crews Saturday, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department. Crews responding to 1753 E. North Ave. at about 12:45 a.m. found smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the house. Moments after gaining entry, firefighters discovered an unconscious victim on the second floor. Officials said the victim was taken to a local hospital with near life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Moments after gaining entry, firefighters discovered an unconscious victim on the second floor.

Officials said the victim was taken to a local hospital with near life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

It has not been determined if the home had a working smoke alarm. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
