Grand Rapids firefighters rescued six people from the roof of a burning home early Wednesday morning, according to The Grand Rapids Press.
Crews responded to the fire at approximately 5 a.m. at 907 Arianna Street NW.
The six people -- which included both children and adults -- climbed out of a second-story window. A seventh person escaped from the basement of the structure without help.
No working smoke detectors were found in the home.
According to the newspaper, a family member awoke to the smell of smoke and alerted the others.
Fire investigators said the fire was cooking related.
