One Dies in Baltimore City House Fire

BALTIMORE, Md. -- A person was found unresponsive inside a burning house in Baltimore on Tuesday night and later died. Baltimore City Fire Department spokesman Kevin Cartwright said units were dispatched to a two-alarm fire in the 4300 block of Springdale Avenue just before 11 p.m. Units at the scene found a two-story wood-frame home heavily engulfed in flames.

A person was found unresponsive inside a burning house in Baltimore on Tuesday night and later died.

Baltimore City Fire Department spokesman Kevin Cartwright said units were dispatched to a two-alarm fire in the 4300 block of Springdale Avenue just before 11 p.m.

Units at the scene found a two-story wood-frame home heavily engulfed in flames.

Firefighters got word that one person was still inside the home, and when they searched, they found the person unconscious and unresponsive. The victim was handed over to medics but later died.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. There were no reports of injured firefighters.
