Layoffs Rescinded for Michigan City Firefighters

A Michigan city has decided to rescind layoff notices sent to 26 firefighters last month.

The Allen Park City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night and concessions have been made by both the fire and police departments, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The details of the personnel concessions have not been disclosed. But, City Attorney Todd Flood said there will be sacrifices, the newspaper reported.

The pink slips were sent out in February after the council voted they may have to close the department.
