Caskets Salvaged From Mich. Funeral Home Fire
SHIAWASEE COUNTY, Mich. --
Firefighters were called to the scene of a funeral home fire in Shiawassee Countys village of Byron Thursday morning.
The fire began just before 8:30 a.m. at the Streeter Funeral Home, 507 W. Maple St., authorities said.
Fire crews from neighboring departments were called in, as well as the American Red Cross.
The Flint Journal reported several witnesses helped rush more then a dozen caskets out of the burning building.
Fire officials told the newspaper the fire appears to be electrical.
No injuries have been reported.
